5 Ways to Make Your Marriage More Exciting

Want to know ways to make your marriage more exciting? Anyone who has been married for a while will probably answer, "Yes," to that question.

Marriage starts off with a bang. There is the "honeymoon phase." That is an exciting time, but after a while, other things get thrown into the mix. Children may come along. Pressures of making continual provision for the family, unexpected emergencies, and so forth can add pressure to both the husband and wife. Then, after a while, things get sort of "hum drum."

You then realize that you would like to increase the excitement in your marriage.:

Here are 5 ways to make your marriage more exciting.

1. Do some fun things together.

If it has been a while since you dated, go on a date. it does not have to be quite expensive (although that would get your mate's attention). Just spending time together in a place where you do not usually go will bring a little excitement.

Play a game. If you have not done that for a while, that will add some variety to your marriage.

2. Restore your commitment to show love and respect to each other.

Both of you need respect, but usually the husband has more of a need in this area than does the wife. So, wives, think about your comments. Think about how you react when your husband tries to lighten things up by telling a joke. Think about some careless comments that may pull your husband down.

Both of you need love too, but usually the wife has a greater need for romance and affection. So, husbands, think about ways you can be more romantic. This probably does not come naturally for many of us, as a lot of us are a little rough around the edges. Notice what your wife reads. Notice what she likes when she sees what she considers to be a good story on TV or video. Work on being more romantic.

Increased efforts at love and respect will make your marriage more exciting.

3. Do some things out of habit.

This seems to be contradictory. You would think that variety would "make your marriage more exciting", and it does. However, many marriages have been improved by the couple picking up new habits. For instance, if you do not kiss your husband or wife before you part ways in the morning and give each other a kiss when you meet again in the evening, you could make it a habit to do that. That may not seem exciting because it is not spontaneous, but it has been shown to help many marriages.

4. Look for ways to add variety in your schedules.

Be creative. Just making an effort will probably help.

5. Research some new techniques.

In the areas of physical intimacy, you could research some new techniques. You can find resources that are tastefully written. Anything you can do here to give added pleasure to you spouse will make your marriage more exciting.

These are some ideas that give you 5 ways to make your marriage more exciting. Look for more!
